Manilkara zapota, normally known as sapodilla, sapota, chikoo, naseberry, or nispero is an extensive, evergreen tree local to southern Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean. A precedent common event is in beach front Yucatán in the Petenes mangroves ecoregion, where it is a subdominant plant species. It was acquainted with the Philippines during Spanish colonization. It is developed in huge amounts in India, Pakistan, Thailand, Malaysia, Cambodia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Bangladesh and Mexico.

The name "zapota" from the Spanish zapote [θaˈpote] eventually gets from the Nahuatl word tzapotl.

Inside, its tissue ranges from a light yellow to a hearty dark colored shading with a grainy surface similar to that of a well-matured pear. Each natural product contains one to six seeds. The seeds are hard, lustrous, and dark, taking after beans, with a snare toward one side that can get in the throat whenever gulped.

The organic product has an outstandingly sweet, malty season. The unripe natural product is difficult to the touch and contains high measures of saponin, which has astringent properties like tannin, drying out the mouth.
